Ivanna Nejelski (2003°), lives and works in Ghent, Belgium. Her practice positions itself between the performative acts of ‘showing’ and ‘telling,’ resulting in conceptual installations that explore the dynamic relationships between the artwork, the artist, the institution, and the viewer. Her work continuously shifts between the seen and the unseen, the spoken and the unspoken. Rooted in personal experiences, her installations come together through real, fictional and critical narratives that subtly find their way into the viewer’s perception.
Her multimedia practice includes handwritten texts, typed texts,
spoken texts, hidden texts, photography, performances, publications, sculptures, and involuntary participations.
